Manifesto · v0.1 · May 2026

The market doesn't move first. Attention does.

A short statement of what we believe, what we are building, and what we will not pretend to know.

Every meaningful rally — and every collapse — is preceded by a measurable shift in collective attention. By the time price reflects it, the move is already old news to the people who pay attention to attention itself.

Today, three categories of tools dominate how people read markets: data terminals (Bloomberg, FactSet) tell you what already happened. Charting platforms (TradingView) show you what is happening in price, but never in consciousness. AI chat interfaces explain text after the fact. None of them measures the one thing that comes before all of them: the slow, traceable formation of collective consensus.

What we are building

Menanon is a narrative intelligence system. It ingests public attention signals across creators, niche communities, scientific literature, and search behavior, and it surfaces the narratives that are forming — before they show up in price.

The output is a map. Each narrative on the map carries a transparent score, a propagation trajectory (origin → creators → media → institutional → capital), and links back to the raw data that produced it. There is no black box. The formula is public.

What we believe

  • 01Attention is causally prior to capital, but not deterministically so. The link is statistical, not mechanical.
  • 02The signal is real, but most products that claim to measure it don't disclose how. We will publish methodology and let it be criticized.
  • 03Backtests overstate. Forward returns are the only honest benchmark. We will track both, in public.
  • 04No single dataset captures attention. The signal lives in the intersection of many imperfect sources.
  • 05Visual clarity is part of the product, not decoration. A score you can't see in context is a score you can't act on.

What we will not claim

We will not promise that attention deterministically causes price. We will not market backtests as if they were forward performance. We will not invent users, testimonials, or numbers. We will not launder hype as data.

We will be wrong. We will publish when we are. The point is not to be infallible. The point is to be useful and falsifiable.

Who this is for

Hedge funds and family offices that need alternative data without building a quant team. VCs who want to spot emerging categories before consensus. Independent traders who already feel the narrative shifts before the chart confirms — and want a tool that confirms it for them. Researchers studying how ideas propagate.

Where we are now

Pre-launch. Six public data sources online. Methodology drafted, published below. First scrapers running locally. Alpha access opening in stages.

If you read this far and the project resonates, join the waitlist. Members of the alpha cohort shape what gets built.
